Feeling a bit over-committed

Sometimes I take on too many things and I simply can’t do them all. That is what I’ve been finding recently. This was less of a problem before I became a mum as there was much more time available to do all these things, but I’m learning I need to be more picky with how I spend my time. Working mums need to have laser focus to be productive and focus on the right things to be done without getting distracted by ‘nice-to-haves’

So- that’s my task for September- I treat my year a bit like a school year so September is the start and I’ll be having a bit of a mental and physical declutter to kick things off, and sharing about it here in case it helps other mums who like me, maybe take on a bit too much but don’t know where to cut back.

Updates to the blog:

In the mean time, I wanted to do a quick update blog post as I realised it’s been almost 2 months since the last post. There are some new features which I’m excited about- every week there will be a FlexiMum Friday post to share about one of the amazing women involved with Mumming and what they are doing / their advice for going your own way and managing the juggle! (This is also great for me as they are writing the blog piece instead of me!) Plus they will be getting extra exposure for their business - win win! The Mumming Directory is also now live - check it out as a great way to support each other and local businesses run by talented women! Another ongoing feature will be sharing the results of the weekly Mumming Matters Survey that we run on Instagram- from children’s TV, Fitness as a working mum, stress, returning to work and kids learning to talk- it’s always interesting seeing the responses on these surveys!

What have we been up to?

It’s been a full-on summer so far! We’ve been to Greece, Dorset and Italy. We’ve been to 2 weddings and have one more to go to as well. I’ve been to lots of fab events run by women in the London area- from Lucky Things with Sunita to How Does She Do It networking and Power of Mum coaching. I really feel inspired and uplifted by everything I see happening on instagram at the moment (and naturally a bit flustered and concerned that I should be doing more… however just b-r-e-a-t-h-e!!)
